Important Warning About Windows Recall ⚠️:

If you communicate with someone
who might be using the upcoming Microsoft's Windows Recall feature, be extremely careful about what information you share with them.

Regardless of what secure application you use, be especially careful about sending:

- Intimate photos

- Passwords or other sensitive information

- Medical conditions

- Personal details, even through secure emails or secure encrypted chats

- Financial information

- Video chats, even encrypted ones

This feature will unfortunately extract your information from whatever secure software you might have used and store it on this person's computer in a possibly less secure way.

Of course this person could manually take a screenshot of all of this anyway, but this feature makes it that even a well-intentioned person might either not be aware it is on, or might wrongly assume it is secure enough.

Frustration grows over Google's #AI Overviews feature, how to disable

#Google has enabled its AI Overview (Search Generative Experience) feature. For queries where it “believes” it can provide “better value” than linked sites, it will generate a summary… using content scraped from independent sites (*cough*) … and sometimes showing incorrect information.

There are workarounds for disabling it, but the best solution is to use another search engine…

I got a notification on #Facebook that #Meta plans to use my posts etc. for training #AI and said they were using the Legitimate Interest justification for doing it.

I sent in an objection stating that using data for training AI doesn't fall within the remit of what a user might reasonably expect the company to do with my data on the basis of the service being provided: https://www.gdpreu.org/the-regulation/key-concepts/legitimate-interest/

They have upheld my objection and will not use my data. So you can do it too!

OK, let's get over the giggles & get to the underlying problem: #Google's #AI - as all AI systems built with the current knowledge & technology - is just as often & dramatically wrong *when you can't see it*...!!

It's easy to spot the glue in the pizza recipe or the inability to count to four, but every single time you get an AI summary which looks right to you, it can easily contain just as egregious errors you can't identify.

It's a bullshit geneator, nothing else.

Llevaba casi una década sin ir al trabajo en bicicleta. No lo necesitaba, como no necesitaba coche o moto. El transporte público era suficiente para moverme.

Ayer, me llegó la bicicleta eléctrica (por cuestiones médicas, la asistencia al pedaleo es imperativa). No es que la necesite. Puedo seguir yendo al trabajo usando autobús-renfe-renfe-tranvia. Estimo que tardo solo 10 minutos menos en bici (60-70 minutos frente a 70-80 minutos). Pero no es por ello por lo que ciclo.

Quiero que me vean pedalear. Quiero que la gente perciba que es posible. NECESITO urgentemente dar ejemplo.

Pedalear como acto político.
