Salt flats, deserts, & dry lakes host mysterious, unexplained patterns of interlocked polygons that grow on the salt-encrusted ground. Now researchers believe they can explain how these patterns form through the interaction between fluid flowing in the soil & fluid evaporating at the surface. The work appears to offer a unifying explanation for the growth of such polygons.

If you go to https://spacekaren.sucks it is now a URL shortener that blocks the twitter user agent.
