Yesterday I shared an editorial in Nature (https://lnkd.in/eGgPXjWJ) addressing UN's first two sustainable development goals (SDGs): 1) No poverty and 2) Zero hunger.
According to WWF, we waste up to a third of the food produced. In the European Union (EU), with about 450 million inhabitants, 88 million tons of food end up in landfills every year, about 200 kg of food per inhabitant. WWF proposes to halve food loss and waste in the EU by 2030. If we reduced waste we could already feed more than 10 billion humans, not counting the expected improvements in agriculture (see link below).
